The Buckingham Canal Society was founded in 1992 to promote the restoration of the disused Buckingham Canal. The Society is lead by a group of 8 Trustees and holds committee meetings 6 times a year. They also hold a canal festival and craft fair each year in Cosgrove. They run 3 practical task work parties a month and attend fetes and fairs to promote the society.

They are very keen to increase their public awareness and to this end need a regular committed individual to facilitate popularity through social networking on the popular social media sites of Facebook and Twitter.
