Job brief

This will be a part time volunteer position (hours to suit). As a receptionist you will have a big part in helping our charity run, you will be the first point of contact for the charity and you will provide a variety of administrative support. You will be working very closely with the director and trustees of Clearly Speaking, You will handle activity club bookings and ensure messages and private and confidential information is recorded correctly.

You will be given the chance to gain valuable experience and qualifications with a very well recognized charity, previous volunteers have gone onto successful careers.

Greet, welcome and direct visitor and families
Answer, screen and forward any incoming phone calls while providing information when needed
Receive and sort daily mail/deliveries/couriers
Maintain security by following procedures and controlling access (monitor logbook, issue visitor badges)
Update appointment calendars and schedule meetings/appointments
Perform other clerical receptionist duties such as filing, photocopying, collating etc.

Proficient with Microsoft Office 2016, Windows 10
Ability to problem solve and suggest improvements if needed
Solid communication skills both written and verbal
Ability to follow instructions
Enthusiasm and commitment to the charity
Ability to be resourceful and proactive in dealing with issues that may arise
Ability to organise, multitask, prioritise and work under pressure
Want to learn and have awareness of Autism, Learning and physical disabilities

We are looking for someone with good Admin skills, and able to use IT equipment without handholding. you must be able to communicate well both phone, email and face to face especially when you greet parents and young people into the building,

You will be given free training worth £300 aswell as a free enhanced DBS check, first aid, safe guarding and other exciting opportunities. You will gain experience and skills from highly trained and qualified trustees and be working with one the countries most knowledgeable Autism experts in the U.K. Right now.
