Caring

You will need a recognised qualification in Massage Therapy. You will need to be committed, reliable and have a genuine desire to help people. You will need excellent communication skills and a warm, empathic personality. Our volunteers have a caring, compassionate nature and non-judgemental attitude alongside the ability to deal with emotionally charged situations.

Complementary Therapy is incredibly rewarding as you really can make a huge difference to someone’s life. Feedback from clients of the service has been overwhelmingly positive with many people reporting that the service was a vital lifeline. By volunteering in this role, you are delivering our service at the frontline. It is here that you will see first-hand the benefits that Tynedale Hospice at Home can provide in supporting people in the community.

The service is very flexible. Some clients may require very few sessions, others may need the service for a longer period. The hours therefore are irregular, but we would ask for a minimum commitment of 5 hours per month.
