All volunteers will be put through an Enhanced DBS check and reference process prior to volunteering. Horse experience is needed for horse-based roles. Volunteers wanting to get involved with horses need to be confident around horses and have a basic knowledge of needs and be happy to follow instructions. Child-focused roles require some experience around children and young adults but mostly confidence when managing others and good people skills. As you will be working in close vicinity to horses, it is important that you are confident to learn more about working around horses and not fearful.

All volunteers will get the opportunity to work outdoors around horses and children and young people in a private, beautiful location connect to Bushy Park. All volunteers will have the opportunity to interact with the horses and learn more about working around them. Managing and working with our members is not only extremely rewarding, but will also be brilliant volunteering to build skills in the charity and child-caring sectors. There are also opportunities for volunteer rides when we are able to do so.

Usually a volunteer will select one session to attend each week as this gives them the opportunity to get to know the other volunteers, member and horses in that session. The weekend sessions are as follows; Saturday AM: 8:15-12:45 (10+) Saturday PM: 1:00-5:30 (10+) Sunday AM: 8:15-12:45 (10+) Sunday PM: 1:30-4:30 (8-10 year olds)
