Would you like to be part of a team that helps to reduce food waste and provides healthy low cost food to your local community?

The Real Junk Food Project are looking for a keen cook to join their kitchen team at the Cambrian Centre in Richmond on Wednesday mornings. You will be joining a dynamic team that create healthy lunches for ~50 guests per session, creating dishes from the food donations that arrive that morning. This is food that is rescued from the supermarkets and other local businesses that would otherwise have gone to waste.

Our team of chefs aim to create a soup, two main courses (one vegetarian) and a dessert each session. You will get the chance to be creative, and will learn techniques of how to cook dishes in large quantities if you don't already have experience in catering.

The core hours are 9-11:30 with an opportunity to stay and serve customers during our opening hours (11:30-13:30) if you would like to.

Our community cafes operate on a Pay As You Feel Basis and are open to all members of our community.

You will be joining a friendly social team and will be giving back to your community as well as benefiting the environment.

9am-11:30am on Wednesdays, maximum 9am-2pm if you wish to stay for a full shift including service. We ask that our volunteers can typically commit to attending at least twice a month
