This role would suit someone who enjoys bringing order and clarity to how organisations work. You’ll need to be organised and reliable, with the ability to prepare agendas, capture clear decisions in meetings, and keep key documents up to date. Good written communication skills and attention to detail are important, as is discretion when handling information. You don’t need prior experience as a trustee or secretary — what matters most is an interest in good governance and a willingness to support a community organisation to thrive. You’ll be joining the club at an exciting point, helping to strengthen its foundations as it works towards becoming a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO). Support and guidance will be provided, and the role offers a chance to make a real difference behind the scenes in a well-established local sports club.

This role offers the chance to make a meaningful contribution to a well-established community sports club at an important stage in its development. You’ll gain practical experience of governance and support the club’s transition towards Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) status — valuable experience for anyone interested in trustee or committee roles. The role is flexible, mostly remote, and designed to fit around other commitments. You’ll work with a friendly, committed group of volunteers and have the satisfaction of knowing your contribution helps enable safe, inclusive, and well-run volleyball opportunities in the local community.

Around 3–5 hours per month, with a small increase around the AGM or key governance milestones. The role is flexible and most tasks can be completed at times that suit the volunteer.

Richmond Volleyball Club operates across several venues in Richmond, Kingston and the surrounding area (see club website for details). This role is managed mostly remotely and does not require regular attendance at any club venues.
