Would you like to be part of a team that helps to reduce food waste and provides healthy low cost food to your local community?

The Real Junk Food Project are looking for a keen cook to join their kitchen teams at Ham youth club on Tuesday mornings. You will be joining a dynamic team that create healthy lunches for 40-60 guests per session, creating dishes from the food donations that arrive that morning. This is food that is rescued from the supermarkets and other local businesses that would otherwise have gone to waste.

Our team of chefs aim to create a soup, vegetarian main courses (with optional meat on the side) and a dessert each session. You will get the chance to be creative, and will learn techniques of how to cook dishes in large quantities if you don't already have experience in catering.

The core hours are 9-11:30 with an opportunity to stay and serve customers during our opening hours (11:30-13:30) if you would like to.

Our community cafes operate on a Pay As You Feel Basis and are open to all members of our community.

Confident cook. Doesn't need to have professional experience.

You will be joining a friendly social team and will be giving back to your community as well as benefiting the environment.

Minimum 9am-11:30am on Tuesdays, maximum 9am-2pm if you wish to stay for a full shift including service.
