Community Engagement Officer

As a Community Engagement Officer Volunteer, you will help identify and develop opportunities for Cianna's Smile Charity to engage with schools, healthcare professionals, charities, community groups and other local organisations.

You will contribute to increasing awareness of sickle cell and the importance of blood donation, while helping us develop educational talks, workshops, documentary screenings and community events.

Admin, Basic IT skills - internet & email, Counselling, Creative & Design, Language Skills, Managing People, Negotiating, Organising & Planning, Reading & Writing

We are looking for someone who: Has good communication and interpersonal skills. Is confident researching organisations and identifying opportunities. Enjoys networking, building relationships and speaking with different people. Has good written communication and basic organisational skills. Can work independently while communicating effectively with the charity team. Is interested in health awareness, community engagement, equality or charitable work. Is reliable, enthusiastic and willing to learn. Previous experience in community engagement, outreach, healthcare, education or the charity sector would be beneficial but is not essential.

Practical experience in community outreach and partnership development. Opportunities to develop professional networking and communication skills. Experience researching and developing community projects. Insight into health awareness campaigns and the voluntary sector. Opportunities to contribute ideas and help shape the charity's future activities. The chance to make a real difference in the community Hands-on experience in community engagement and outreach Opportunities to build confidence, communication, and relationship-building skills Experience working with families, schools, and partners A supportive team environment where your contribution is valued Valuable experience to strengthen your CV

Minimum 6- 12 hours per week Must be available to volunteer in our office Tuesdays (9:30am-1:30pm) and/or Wednesdays (9:30am-4:30pm) and/or some events at the weekends.
