The morning sessions run from 8:30am to 1pm for our 10-18 year olds. The afternoon sessions run from 1:30-4:30pm for the 8-10 year olds. You don't have to help every week - we run a rota where you sign up for however many sessions you want to do.

On a morning the adult volunteers keep an eye on the children as they catch, groom and tack up the ponies - stepping in to help if they need it. We then supervise them as they do their yard jobs and make sure that everything is done to a high standard.

On an afternoon the adults supervise the seniors while they teach the children to catch, groom and tack up the ponies. The children then go to a riding lesson or the theory lesson for an hour, before canteen break and doing jobs/playing in the menage. Extra adults are required to assist our regular volunteers as they teach riding and theory to the children.

If you are interested then the best thing to do is pop over any weekend and have a look around. Any time between 9:30 and 11am works well for the morning or it would need to be 1:50pm for the afternoon. Please get in touch so we know to expect you.

Good spoken English

Volunteering at Rangers is very rewarding. We are not a traditional riding stables and the emphasis is very much on the whole hands on pony experience and learning life skills along the way. It is very rewarding to see the children grow in confidence and proficiency through their journey with us.

8:30-1pm for a morning session or 1:30-4:30pm for an afternoon session. You can attend weekly, fortnightly or monthly but we would prefer fortnightly or weekly.

Further location details may be provided below.

Forest Green Road Fifield

Please note your Sat Nav may take you to the Kelperland Veterinary centre (next to Banham Farm) rather than to our farm. If coming from the direction of Windsor you need to keep driving on the Forest Green Road, passing Coningsby Lane on your right. We are 100 yards further on the left. Coming from the Maidenhead/Ascot direction, drive along Forest Green Road, past a row of cottages on your left, then we are about 200 yards further on the right. If you pass Coningsby Lane on your left you have gone too far.
