As a Pride Parade Squad Leader, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, order, and smooth
operation of the parade. This role requires strong leadership, effective communication, and the ability
to respond quickly to any situations that may arise. Squad Leaders are essential in maintaining a positive and inclusive atmosphere while guiding participants and spectators through the parade route.

Events & Stewarding

Key Responsibilities: • Parade Safety: Monitor parade participants and spectators to ensure everyone’s safety and comfort throughout the event. Be vigilant for any potential hazards or safety concerns. • Participant Assistance: Assist parade participants by providing direction, ensuring they stay within designated parade areas, and helping with line-up or transitions as needed. • Crowd Control: Help manage spectators along the parade route, ensuring they are respectful of parade boundaries and the safety of all attendees. Direct crowds away from restricted or hazardous areas. • Coordinate with Other Volunteers: Communicate effectively with other volunteers, parade organizers, and emergency personnel to ensure smooth coordination and response to any issues that may arise. • Provide Information: Answer questions from parade participants, spectators, and volunteers, offering information on the parade schedule, route, and festival events. • Enforce Parade Guidelines: Ensure that parade participants adhere to the rules and guidelines for the event, maintaining a positive, inclusive, and celebratory atmosphere.
