Do you have a passion for the history of Lichfield? An interest in meeting people, spending time in fascinating historic surroundings or developing new skills? If the answer is Yes, then you could be just the person we need!

We are looking for volunteers to welcome visitors into the Old Guildhall Prison Cell displays on Saturdays between April and September. No previous experience is necessary and opportunities are very flexible. The purpose of this volunteering role is to welcome people into the cells and help them to have an enjoyable visit. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of Lichfield's history, meet visitors to the City and develop your own skills and interests too.

Tasks include:
-Welcoming people into the cells
-Keeping a record of visitor numbers
-Looking after the exhibition and keeping it tidy throughout the day
-Answering questions and giving information about the cells

The cells are open every Saturday from April to September 10am - 4pm. This volunteering opportunity is very flexible - sessions usually last three hours (10am to 1pm or 1pm - 4pm, and you can come as little or as often as you feel able to commit to.

Masks are recommended throughout the Guildhall. Volunteers will be seated a safe distance away from the cells so that they are socially distanced. Hand sanitiser and antibacterial wipes will be available to volunteers, and the interactives in the cells will be cleaned after every shift.
