We need somebody to help our existing volunteer look after the plants in the Greenhouse in our Victorian Walled Garden. We grow small plants for sale at Wallington Farmers Market to raise funds for the Carshalton Community Allotment. We need somebody once a week to help look after the plants; pot them on, sow more, keep them organised, keep the greenhouse tidy etc. Obviously watering is needed daily in hot weather but we don't expect you to do that. Then, once a month a month the plants that are ready for market need to be packed into crates ready for us to transport. If you wanted to help on the sale stall at the market you'd be welcome, but it's not a requirement at all.

You need to be able to work independently, use your own initiative, have common sense and enjoy organising things. You need to know how to look after plants; watering, repotting, weeding. It's not absolutley necessary to be an expert on which plants are which - we don't know what they are all are, but we know people who can help us identify them.
Enjoy being in our peaceful garden space (though be aware the garden is in need of renovation). Get a sense of achievement through making the greenhouse organised, tidy, clean and productive. Contribute to helping us raise funds for a good cause.

For this role we welcome anybody who can work independently. But please note that currently our garden is not AT ALL disabled access. We are working to achieve that eventually.
