Volunteers are required to assist with the ongoing maintenance of exhibit gardens and wildlife habitat in Sutton Ecology Centre. The type of work carried out varies depending on the season and is based around general gardening and DIY activities. This could include hedge laying, living willow structures, dead hedging leaf raking, litter picking, maintaining paths and managing woodland, pond and meadow habitats.
Unfortunately Sutton Ecology Centre is a fairly small site and so at times it is necessary to limit the number of new volunteers joining the Wednesday Task Day. There are however other opportunities for Conservation Volunteering, including Sutton Nature Conservation Volunteers. We are happy to discuss opportunities with new volunteers.
