Are you interested in local football? Can you provide much needed community support by being a volunteer Here To Help steward at Sutton United FC on match days? Being a here to help steward is all about keeping people safe and creating a great atmosphere where supporters and visitors alike can enjoy the game. This role is all about helping spectators to enjoy their visit, but if you have NVQ stewarding qualifications those roles are also available (if qualified payment would be available). Role includes turnstile operators, scan QR codes, selling programmes, directing to toilets, first aid and refreshments.

Volunteers need to be reliable, trustworthy individuals who are confident around crowds. Excellent verbal skills and the ability to keep calm under pressure are vital, as is being aware of the right way to say something and have a friendly but firm attitude. Volunteers need good eyesight and an awareness of what is going on around them. Need to be able to cope with crowds and noise and think on your feet, being independent.

Your role will mainly be before the match so you get to watch the games. It's great to be a part of a successful local community club.

For the football season from August to May. Don't have to come to every game, we'd like a commitment of at least 6 games a season, roughly 1- 2 hour before the game e.g. 1.00-3.00pm for Saturday or 6.30-7.45pm on a Tuesday evening.
