Helping Hands Project (HHP)

An opportunity for you to befriend individuals and families who have experienced domestic abuse. Building a trusting relationship, you will support them to make links within the wider community to access local services. As a local Mitcham charity we are looking for volunteers from Sutton and Merton. Full training and ongoing support is provided. During the training it will be a necessary requirement for you to complete an Enhanced Child and Adult workforce DBS (Disclosure Barring Service) and 2 references will be sought. Referees must have known the volunteer for 2 years or longer and non-family members. Once the HHP training has been completed we ask for a minimum of 2 hours volunteering per week. Our project runs Monday- Friday, 9am-5pm. Please note: volunteers for our HHP project must be aged 18 yrs & over.

Training format for the Helping Hands project will be 1.5 - 2.5 hours individual e-learning each week, followed by 3 hours group training each week from 10am – 1pm Wednesday 13th July.

Training will start w/c 26th January on Zoom, the following week will also be on Zoom then the last session is face to face at our Jigsaw4u office in Mitcham. The face to face session will be subject to any Covid regulations.
