We are looking for local volunteers to act as Buddy’s to isolated Islington residents.
The role of a buddy is to build a trusting relationship with an isolated person in your neighbourhood and to support them during and after the Covid 19 outbreak.
Currently, this would mean keeping in regular contact by phone (at least weekly) and being willing to help out with small practical tasks. These tasks could be things like picking up a prescription or purchasing small amounts of emergency shopping.
As the Covid 19 restrictions start to ease, we would like you to support your matched resident to help them re-engage with society. We know that for a lot of people the idea of going out again will be very frightening. Many people will need a bit of extra support to adjust back to their routine or even to widen their social contacts. Support at this time may mean activities such as meeting up for a coffee or going for a walk in the park.

If you are interested in being a Buddy, we will aim to match you with a resident within your own or a nearby postcode. We would ask you to commit for at least 6 months.
This role will take place around N7 and N19 areas.

Please help us to process responses quickly by ONLY applying for roles when you meet ALL of the requirements.
