We work in partnership with communities in Tanzania to remove the barriers that prevent young people from accessing a quality education.
We use our social media platforms and the press to tell the world about those barriers and why education is so important in the communities we work.

Role purpose

To support our communication with the public via the Livingstone Tanzania Trust website and through social media channels such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Linkedin. To write copy for mail-outs and newsletters.


Produce regular new and interesting content for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Linkedin, the website and supporter newsletters.
Produce graphics using Canva for use on social media following a simple brand guide.
Ensure all communications are consistent with LTT’s key messages and comply with ethical story telling and are representative of activities across the organisation.
Attend regular meetings with the Individual Giving and Community Fundraiser.
Check and edit content, in order to ensure good quality and appropriateness of style for the audience
Develop the tools LTT uses for communications

What you need to begin the role

Understanding of, and willingness to work with, diversity and cultural difference
Initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Good spoken and excellent written English
A good understanding of how to effectively use social media tools and analyse impact
A good level of computer literacy
An interest in organisational communication and marketing
Good communication and organisational skills
Ability to work to deadlines

What you can learn, if you can’t do it when you start

The basics of approaches in International Development.
How to promote a charity’s key messages to a variety of audiences on a variety of platforms.

Time commitment:

Flexible – daytime/evenings.

Minimum 6 month commitment.

Location: At home (being in or near either Sheffield or London could be an advantage but not essential)

This role is managed by the Individual Giving and Community Fundraiser
