Volunteer Centre  We Welcome

We welcome and/or have the resources to support:

Citizens Advice values diversity, promotes equality and challenges discrimination. We encourage and welcome applications from people of all backgrounds. We particularly welcome applications from racially minoritised people/people of colour, disabled people, people with physical or mental health conditions, LGBTQ+ and non- binary people. We recommend local Citizens Advice use the principles behind the Disability Confident scheme when processing applications to help remove barriers to disabled people and those with long-term health conditions when applying for roles. Having a criminal record is not in itself a barrier to volunteering, and we will only take relevant convictions or sexual offences into account. Our policy is in place to make sure ex-offenders are treated fairly. We consider each offence individually, looking at issues like risk to the client, how long ago it took place, the circumstances and whether they are relevant to the volunteer role. EU/EEA nationals: Irish citizens are fully entitled to volunteer, due to the longstanding Common Travel Area agreement, which allows free movement and associated rights to British and Irish citizens within the two territories. EU/EEA nationals from other countries will need one of the following statuses to volunteer:  pre-settled status  settled status  a visa status that allows volunteering (as outlined on the NCVO website) All are welcome to apply, we will decide based upon an individual’s circumstances.
