What you will be doing

Helping care workers to deliver activities during the day for clients with various levels of dementia. Serving tea, clearing up, chatting and helping clients access activities. We provide a secure and friendly environment.

Note- no personal care is undertaken by volunteers.

Skills Description

An ability to communicate with people and have a happy and positive outlook. Willing to join in /support basic activities such as games, crafts, singing and reminisce. Serving refreshments and general clearing away.

From A46 Stratford road turn into Alcester High street which leads to Church street in Alcester. Next to the Baptist church through the green gate. Limited street parking there are signs to the town car park.

We welcome both male and female volunteers of all backgrounds. Our male clients would greatly benefit from any male wishing to volunteer.

Covid Safe

We do not allow volunteers or clients to come if they are unwell. Hand gel is used before refreshments are served. Normal food hygiene regulations are adhered to.

How Long Do I Have To Volunteer For?

You need to commit to a regular volunteering opportunity of around an hour a week. The table below shows the commitment required for each level of the DofE.

Bronze

Minimum time: 3 or 6 months

You must do one of your volunteering, Physical or Skills sections for 6 months, the others for 3.

Silver

Minimum time: 6 or 12 months

If you heven't achieved your Bronze Award, you must extend your volunteering or the longer of your Physical or Skills sections to 12 months.

Gold

Minimum time: 12 or 18 months

If you heven't achieved your Silver Award, you must extend your volunteering or the longer of your Physical or Skills sections to 18 months.
