Walk Volunteer (Miners Welfare Park)

We are looking for an individual who is committed to supporting our communities’ mental health and wellbeing though walking, someone who shares our enthusiasm and passion for walking by supporting our walk leaders and occasionally leading walks for our local group. You'll work with a long standing walk leader and program coordinator at a well established walk in Bedworth Miner’s Welfare Park.

What you will be doing
· Working with Walks Coordinator(s) to support and lead walks
· Committing to supporting/leading walks on Wednesday mornings
· Welcome and include all members and non-members (including promoting other walks)
· Engage with walkers and make conversation to help promote better mental health and wellbeing
· Be responsible for the group during the walk, make sure everyone is kept safe and accounted for, (where needed) working with the back marker
· If any incident or accident happens on the walk, report it quickly to the Ramblers office/or your Walks Coordinator

The skills you need:- - Experience of walking in your local area or community - People person, able to lead a team with humor - Good communication skills and able to build a relationship with all sorts of people

· Access to training and network opportunities · Support and advice from other Walk Leaders · Support and guidance from Walks Coordinator(s) · Being part of a friendly group · Helping people access the outdoors on foot
