Trustees are the people who share ultimate responsibility for governing a charity and directing how it is managed and run. As a trustee of a small local charity, you will play a key role in ensuring the charity meets its objectives, complies with the law, and delivers meaningful impact to the community. More than this you can help shape what we are - we are a 70 year old "start up". At a point of change and looking to develop some big ideas.

Personal Qualities • Commitment to the charity’s mission and values. • Willingness to devote the necessary time and effort. • Ability to work as part of a team and make collective decisions. • Good, independent judgement and a strategic mindset. • Integrity and objectivity. Skills and Experience (desirable but not essential) • Experience in governance, charity work, finance, legal, HR, fundraising or community engagement. • Understanding of the voluntary and community sector. • Local knowledge or ties to the community served by the charity.

Leadership and Influence Shaping the Future: Helping define the charity’s direction, priorities, and long-term vision. Championing Innovation: Introducing new ideas and seeing them come to life as the organisation grows. Mentoring Others: Supporting and guiding newer trustees, staff or volunteers.

Meeting once per month - virtual or in person. 8-16 hours per month time commitment
