You’ll be at the heart of the BHF’s fight against heart disease. You will be serving
customers, helping to promote our stock and awareness campaigns and encouraging every donor to become part of our Gift Aid scheme. If you want to get to know the community around you this is a perfect way to integrate yourself into your local area and maybe spread the volunteering bug to new recruits.

There is also a chance to gain an NVQ in retail.

How Long Do I Have To Volunteer For?

You need to commit to a regular volunteering opportunity of around an hour a week. The table below shows the commitment required for each level of the DofE.

Bronze

Minimum time: 3 or 6 months

You must do one of your volunteering, Physical or Skills sections for 6 months, the others for 3.

Silver

Minimum time: 6 or 12 months

If you heven't achieved your Bronze Award, you must extend your volunteering or the longer of your Physical or Skills sections to 12 months.

Gold

Minimum time: 12 or 18 months

If you heven't achieved your Silver Award, you must extend your volunteering or the longer of your Physical or Skills sections to 18 months.
