The ability to work in a confidential manner The ability to empathise with young people Active listener Restrictions: - If applicant has a history of substance misuse they must demonstrate a minimum of 5 years of abstinence. - If applicant has any criminal conviction they must be willing to disclose full details to staff. All convictions also need to be spent with a minimum of 5 years since last offence

The chance to help and support a young person to make positive life changes. You will also receive full training and a Level 2 qualification in Mentoring Skills from the Open College Network a nationally recognised awarding organisation. The training is divided into 8 units each lasting three hours. Ongoing training opportunities Monthly group supervision and regular reviews 2 Group socials every year Further volunteering opportunities

Training 24hrs (8 x 3hr sessions) Once trained commitment is a couple of hours per week to meet mentee
