What you will be doing

Alive is a charity dedicated to improving the quality of life of people living with dementia and their carers. We envision a world where everyone can live a life full of joy, meaning and connection. Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us!

Purpose of the role:
▪ To support meeting centre members with dementia and their carers to enjoy sessions
▪ To help develop a warm and friendly meeting centre community

What you will be doing:

▪ Welcoming members
▪ Helping staff set up and carry out activities
▪ Offering a friendly face and listening ear
▪ Making and serving refreshments
▪ Supporting people on trips and at events
▪ Giving people information about other services
▪ Helping clear away after sessions

Our expectations:

▪ You feel comfortable being with older people, some of whom have mild to moderate dementia
▪ You are willing to learn about dementia
▪ You will attend Alive’s dementia training and other relevant training
▪ You will let the Meeting Centre Manager know beforehand if you are not able to attend the session
▪ You agree to an enhanced DBS check
